About us...

Basset Rescue Connection (BRC) assists in the rescue, socialization and
rehabilitation of unwanted and neglected basset hounds in the greater Los Angeles, California area and beyond. We pledge to make every effort to provide a safe, healthy, stress-free environment to these homeless bassets
while they await new forever families. In the event a new family cannot be found, BRC pledges lifetime
quality care.
Our Mission is to:
- Promote the placement of basset hounds into loving, responsible and permanent homes.
- Rehabilitate and socialize injured, abused or neglected basset hounds.
- Promote responsible pet ownership.
- Provide awareness campaigns regarding spay and neuter.
What does this mean?
Using a network of volunteers, BRC takes in basset hounds from shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. We have them seen by a vet and have them (at a minimum) neutered or spayed and vaccinated. If they require further medical care, we take care of that, too!
We need your help!
Your next logical question might be how do we afford all that and where do we put ALL those basset hounds!?! Well, it's not easy. It's also where YOU can help! BRC can not function without enthusiastic and committed volunteers. BRC volunteers help with everything from fostering (providing temporary shelter and care in their home), transportation, home visits, and even simple things like returning telephone calls. Of all those listed, by far, foster homes are the most needed. If you have room on your sofa and love in your heart for basset hounds won't you open your home to one in need?
